Composite or Bonded filling/restoration
We have just placed a composite resin-bonded restoration. There may be some sensitivity to cold. If it seems prolonged or severe, please call us. If the bite feels high or you feel roughness, please call us for an appointment so we can correct your situation. If your restoration was at the gum line, you may have sensitive gums. If so, rinse with warm salt water.
These restorations will stay beautiful for several years if kept clean and if you avoid food and drinks that stain and tobacco products. Also be cautious of chewing or biting hard foods as you may break or chip this material.
Cosmetic bonding that cover the front teeth, in lieu of a veneer, are at risk of fracturing. Be careful not to bite into hard or sticky foods. Heavy textured foods should be incised further to the back/side areas or cut with a knife.
